Falls and fear of falling in our senior population are recognized public health crises.
According to the CDC, falls are the leading cause of injury-related deaths in older adults by a wide margin. Each year, more than two million seniors experience a fall severe enough to necessitate emergency medical treatment. This number along with the associated personal and societal costs of falling is expected to rise as our population ages. Despite these grim statistics, many falls are preventable with professional interventions that address the causes of falling in older adults.
Our expert clinicians are trained in evidence-based interventions that are proven by controlled clinical trials to effectively reduce the number of falls in older adults.
There are other factors that also contribute to falls. Neurological conditions such as Parkinson's Disease, stroke, multiple sclerosis, brain injury, vestibular disorders, and neuropathy also increase fall risk. Our therapy team is well equipped to address the problems of falling and the fear of falling in individuals living with these conditions.

Here I am with my DPT Jessica. She is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, patient, and FUN!! My therapy sessions are unique & helpful each week. The staff is wonderful and my appointments always start on time. Great music and great atmosphere, I highly recommend Golden Bear PT!!

Golden Bear Physical Therapy in El Dorado Hills is absolutely GREAT! I was referred by my Dr for a shoulder injury/pain that had become extremely physically limiting. Dr Jessica drew up a plan for me and she and her staff worked miracles on my shoulder! Awesome place to get moving again! I can't thank them enough... My shoulder is back in business! Woohoo! I have worked with Dr. Jessica in the past for my shoulder back when she was located in the Bay Area. I heard she moved locations to El Dorado Hills which made me sad to have her further from home but I know that if I ever need her after my snow adventures, she will be close by!
I saw her in the past for my shoulder and I was back to work and things at home without pain after physical therapy with Jessica. My shoulder has been paining for a while but Jessica fixed me. She attentively listened to me, encouraged and pushed me throughout all my sessions, and got me back to lifting my arm above my head and doing all my activities without pain. She was very educational and very effective with each treatment. She was always on time and very friendly to all of her patients.

Jessica and the staff understand the reason for physical therapy. I have been to several other places over the years to less success. Other places don't get into the total injury, just the referral. The difference is getting back to a place of full function. This is a big difference.
There is no free ride, you have to put in the work. But, if your committed the path to success is there. Other places will put you on a exercise machine and then spend half the time with an ice pack... that won't get the job done. If you really want to be back or better than before your injury give them a try.

We loved the PTs at Golden Bear. Both Jessica and Brendan are very knowledgeable and patient. They both spend a lot of quality time explaining the process and go out of the way in every visit. David is very helpful and patient too. Will definitely go back!
