Vertigo, dizziness, and imbalance are commonly associated with a problem with the inner ear or vestibular system functioning. There are many causes of vertigo and dizziness that are treatable with the guidance of a physical therapist with specialized training in Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy.
Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy that uses specific exercises or activities to promote recovery of balance and a sense of stability. The type of therapeutic strategies your therapist implements will depend on the cause of your dizziness and the severity of your symptoms.
Your therapist will conduct a thorough evaluation to help determine if your dizziness will respond to Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy. Depending on the findings of the physical therapy evaluation, the therapist will then proceed with treatment and/or possibly a referral to another appropriate health care provider. Most often, you will respond quickly and favorably to the initial treatment. Our Physical Therapists have extensive training and expertise in Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy.
Causes of dizziness we treat
BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo)
Vestibular Hypofunction (often due to vestibular neuritis or labyrinthitis)
Vestibular Migraine or Migraine Associated Dizziness
Cervicogenic Dizziness or dizziness associated with neck problems
Dizziness due to concussion/ traumatic brain injury
Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness (formerly known as Chronic Subjective Dizziness)

FIT PT was recommended to me by my neighbor.
After having a left hip replacement I tripped and fell 7 weeks after surgery fracturing the femur in my left leg. Surgery was performed to fix the fracture and make sure the new hip was OK resulting in not being able to walk using my left leg, toe touch only for a minimum of 6 weeks. Due to unforeseen circumstances, by the time hip replacement surgery was performed I had lost all strength and muscle tone in that leg and had only started to recover when I fractured my femur. After surgery I was 16 days in a skilled nursing facility and looking for a good PT. My neighbor Shirley recommended FIT and from the initial contact with them to now, after 3 appointments, I’m very pleased how my issues have been understood and are being addressed.
From my wife’s first phone call we have received answers to our questions and concerns in a professional and prompt manner. We appreciate the kindness that has been extended and continues to be given to us.

Had full knee replacement I was schedule for 14 appointments. With Hard work and the help of Fits great physical therapist and crew, I was able to finish in 7 visit.

My 4 year old has juvenile arthritis and needed physical therapy for her hips, knees and many other joints. The therapists at Fit helped me figure out the best ways to work with insurance to get as much as we could for her, then they played with her and showed me the best techniques to get her moving and to improve her movement. We LOVE the entire staff at Fit. They are PHENOMENAL
