The decision of when an athlete is ready to return to sport should not rest on one specific test time from surgery. Our therapists use a variety of tests to make the decision of when an athlete is ready to return to sport.
We use Biodex isokinetic testing to objectively measure strength and power. We use hop testing to look at limb symmetry and motor control of landing mechanics. We utilize force plates and motion capture technology to determine the symmetry of movement and ensure our athletes have safe landing and takeoff mechanics.
We use a 63-meter track to progress running, sprinting, and agility drills to gradually return athletes to sports-specific movements. Our unique facility gives us the space and the equipment to perform all necessary testing to properly evaluate when an athlete is ready to return to the field.
