In preparation for your first visit to our clinic, we want to make sure you are ready and know what to expect.
Arrival:
Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled initial evaluation appointment.
What To Bring:
If you speak a language other than English, please bring a translator with you. Many of our clinics have team members who speak additional languages who can make your visit smoother.
What to Wear:
During your visit with the physical therapist we ask you to dress in comfortable, loose clothing, ideally shorts/pants (non-jeans) and a t-shirt. Clothing that does not restrict movement and that allows visualization of the problem area is recommended.
Sturdy shoes are required, no flip-flops, slippers, or slides.
For back and neck injuries we can provide a gown that has ties in the back for your examination and treatment
What Happens When I see the Physical Therapist?
Your Physical Therapist will work with you to discover the actual “Cause” of your symptoms.
During this initial evaluation, the physical therapist will examine you, discuss your problem with you in detail and provide a mutually agreed upon treatment plan to achieve your goals. The treatment plan includes a number of patient visits expected, and you will discuss which interventions will be most beneficial- including manual therapy, exercise, and modalities (hot pack, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis) if needed. All of our therapists are trained in manual physical therapy techniques to assist in your recovery from injury or dysfunction, so your treatment will include hands-on treatment techniques.
New Patient Paperwork:
At Inspire Physical & Hand Therapy, we value your time and make all efforts to focus on you and your treatment and less on forms and paperwork. However, it is important that we learn as much about you as possible before we begin.
Your new patient paperwork is found inside your patient portal. The link above to the right will take you to the login page to your patient portal. You should have received an email with a temporary password. If not, please hit the reset password and input your email address to gain access.
You can access the patient portal via a computer, smartphone, or tablet at your home 24/7.
If you choose to fill out the patient form packet at our office, please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment to allow enough time to get them completed before your appointment.
