Instructor

Tyler was born and raised, and currently resides in the Central Valley of California, in the small town of Ripon. A scholarship offer to play basketball led him to Fresno Pacific University where he received a B.S in Kinesiology.

He then earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of the Pacific in 2016, and quickly found his professional home in the outpatient setting. Tyler’s niche in physical therapy is working with active patients of all ages by providing thorough care based on movement analysis, exercise prescription, and individualized treatment plans, also while considering the psychosocial aspects of a patient’s health journey. While all parts of the body offer a unique challenge to treat, Tyler has found a true passion in treating the knee. Whether it is a retired patient trying to return to golf after a total knee replacement, or a young athlete looking to return to a high level of play after an ACL repair, Tyler enjoys it all. Beyond treating patients, Tyler believes it is critical to pass along the wealth of knowledge he has accumulated in his career to those starting out as new PTs. You won’t be surprised to see new faces regularly in his clinic in the form of DPT students through his role as a clinical instructor, or see him spending time mentoring new grads in-clinic or remotely. Through meaningful conversation, discussing case studies, and breaking down the process of good clinical reasoning, Tyler has found that meeting students and clinicians where they are at and helping elevate them from there has allowed for the most efficient and meaningful learning to occur. When Tyler isn’t spending time with his wife and two young sons, you can catch him before the sun rises playing basketball, crossfitting, or fishing and as the sun sets on the sidelines of his alma mater’s high school football games.
