FAQ's

Is the virtual consultation really free?

Yes. The virtual consultation is free and is designed to help you decide whether physical therapy may be the right next step.

Is this the same as a full physical therapy evaluation?

No. The free virtual consultation is not a full physical therapy evaluation or treatment visit. It is a brief conversation with a licensed physical therapist to discuss your concerns and help guide your next step. If appropriate, we may recommend scheduling a full in-person evaluation.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

In many cases, patients can begin physical therapy without a referral. However, referral requirements may vary based on your insurance plan, diagnosis, or specific situation. Our team can help you understand what may be needed.

What kinds of problems can I ask about?

You can ask about pain, injury, weakness, stiffness, mobility issues, post-surgical concerns, sports injuries, or general questions about whether physical therapy may help.

Can the therapist diagnose my condition during the virtual consultation?

The consultation is not intended to provide a formal diagnosis. The therapist can discuss your symptoms, ask questions, and help determine whether physical therapy or another type of care may be appropriate.

What happens after the consultation?

After the consultation, the therapist may recommend an in-person physical therapy evaluation, provide general guidance, or suggest that you follow up with a physician or specialist if your symptoms require further medical attention.

How long does the virtual consultation take?

Most consultations are brief and typically take about 10–15 minutes.

Do I need special equipment?

No special equipment is usually needed. You will need a phone, tablet, or computer with internet access and a camera, if video is being used.

Is this available for new and past patients?

Yes. Free virtual consultations are available for people who are new to Greater Therapy Centers, as well as past patients who have a new concern or are unsure whether they should return to therapy.

If I get an order for PT from my Dr or already have an order from my Dr, what happens next?

If your doctor recommends physical therapy and provides an order, the next step is to contact us to schedule your first appointment. Our team will help verify your insurance benefits, answer any questions about your coverage, and find a clinic location and appointment time that works best for you. At your first visit, a licensed physical therapist will complete an evaluation, discuss your symptoms and goals, and create a personalized treatment plan to help you start feeling and moving better.

What if I need urgent medical care?

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, severe symptoms, sudden weakness, chest pain, trouble breathing, loss of bowel or bladder control, or signs of a serious injury, please call 911 or seek immediate medical attention. The free virtual consultation is not intended for emergency situations.
